  • Notes
    • The funeral of Miss Ella Holman which was held Thursday, at the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a most devoted and useful member, was a remarkable one. It spontaneity of respect, people of all stations in life flocked to assist in the obsequies, completely filling the large church and few were the eyes that did not contribute teary homage to her memory. Friends from distant places were in attendance, some from Little Valley, were the deceased spent her last summer in teaching and making friends by her pleasing demeanor, and never unbinding love and labor for the Savior and for souls. Many, very many are the hearts, in different parts of the land, that are touched with the deepest sorrow as they realize the Ellla Holman is dead! - that no more will they enjoy the light of her smiles - never again will they hear her pleasant voice in song, in social intercourse or in wise and encouraging counsel. May her noble, unselfish, Christian life be emulated and patterned after by many. - Springville Journal and Herald, Mar. 30, 1872
